  1. Help:  Manage data of several Net-Recorders                          14.03.93

  3. ≤Write Recorder name:≥
  4. The name of the Net-Recorders can be written in all Net-Control
  5. data files. This affects both the lang stored data as well as
  6. the *.SDF files with configuration information.
  7.  
  8. This is useful, if the files of different Net-Recorders should
  9. be managed together: To be able to distinguish, from which Recorder is
  10. which data file, the Recorder names are used.

  12. The name of the Net-Recorder is written to each record (=line)
  13. of a file:

  29. The Recorder name is not written in the files of the group counters
  30. and the controlled connections, since these files have a variable
  31. record length. (Depending on how many groups and connections you
  32. have entered.)

  35. ≤Relevant part of the Recorder name for reading the addresslist:≥
  36. Since version 4.0 Net-Control os able to read only a part of the
  37. entire list of the known addresses. A selection can be made, which
  38. addresses should be used. This is possible only if the Net-Recorder
  39. name is stored in the addressfile. Accordingly the total list of
  40. addresses now can be larger than 1800 entries.

  42. An address entry is used only if it contains the name of the
  43. corresponding Net-Recorder. The name is compared thereby only up to a
  44. certain length. The number of characters to compared, can be entered
  45. here.

  47. An example:
  48. You use the Net-Recorder name "REC1" and have entered 3 signs as
  49. comparison length. In this case Net-Control reads all addresses from
  50. the file of the known addresses, whose Recorder name entry begins
  51. with "REC". (Therefore also "REC2" would be used, " RE-1" not).

  53. Herewith you can form groups of Net-Recorders, which use the same
  54. addresses from the total list.
